Dora Mae McCarden, the loving daughter of the late Eddie B. McCarden, Sr and the late Eula Mae McCarden Billingslea was born in Harris County, GA on November 10, 1943.
She received her early education with the West Point Schools and Harrison High. After leaving Georgia, she graduated from Oroville High School in Oroville, CA. She was employed with OIC and Southern Pacific Transportation Company. She later worked and retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Oakland.
Dora loved to travel, play cards and she really enjoyed a good game of Scrabble. She visited the Midwest, Mexico and Europe.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Three sons, Dwayne Walters(Oakland, CA), Michael (Tamara) Berry(Martinez, CA) and Jonathan Alexander(Oakland, CA) one loving and dedicated daughter, Janice Young(Oakland, CA) Grandchilden, Jonathan, Taylor, Nepoleon, Nicholas and Tosanana;
Three loving brothers, Willie B.(Annies) McCarden, Albert J. McCarden and Jeffery P. Billinglsea all of West Point, GA; Six loving sisters, Willie Bessie Williams(Albany, GA) Mattie Ruth (Charles)Aycock(Atlanta, GA) Brenda S. McCarden(Fairburn, GA) Kathy M. Billingslea(Norcross, GA), SuVrenda Van Billingslea and Victoria Billingslea, both of West Point, GA) one Sister-in-Law, Shirley L. McCarden (West Point, GA) Two Aunts, Willie Kate Thompson,(Detroit, MI) and Lelia B. Sands,(West Point, GA) one uncle, Gene Todd,(West Point, GA) and a array of neices, nephews, cousins and the Community of West Point, GA.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny B. Barrett and Eddie McCarden, Jr., a sister, Mildred McCarden all of West Point, GA. one grandchild, D'artanian Alexander(Oakland, CA).
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Oakland, CA at 2:00 pm.
