Patty - daughter wrote on Sep 7, 2010:

"Mom, I really needed to talk with you this weekend to tell me that everything will be all right. It's amazing how just a word of encouragement from you can make everything better. I guess I'll continue to look for you in my dreams. Next week I'll be taking care of Sophie while George is at Okoboji. This was our time to play every game from cribbage to scrabble. I don't know what I'll be doing instead. No one else likes to play games like you did. I love and miss you so much but know that you're in a better place. No more pain or concerns. Night Mom. Love you."

Patty - middle daughter wrote on Jul 2, 2010:

"It seems unreal that you've been gone almost 3 months. I still have many nights when I cry for myself missing you so much. There have been so many things happen when my first thought is that I should call and tell Mom that. She was so much a part of my world between helping George take care of her on the weekends to the games that we loved to play together to her putting her winning scores with Yahtzees in every game up on the side of the refrigerator just to prove to herself that it could happen. I found the notes that you wrote on our trip out to Amanda's graduation, specifically the one that you wrote the morning after we slept in the rental car in Yellowstone, when I was so concerned that when you got out of the car in the middle of the night to walk to ease your restless leg syndrome. You wrote, "Good morning all you bears and buffalo. Patty was afaid you would get me." We had such fun together. I have truly lost a best friend. Bye for now Mom. I know I'll see you soon enough when we can plan another trip, hopefully without spending a night in the car!! "
