Tony L. Henry age 43 of Maquoketa Iowa died Saturday evening October 11 2003 at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa from injuries received in an automobile-motorcycle accident just south of Maquoketa on Highway 61.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday October 15 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday October 14 2003 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery Maquoketa Iowa.
Tony L. Henry was born on April 17 1960 in Maquoketa Iowa to Lowell L. Henry and Dianna K. (Gilmore) Henry. He was a 1978 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School. He married Mary K. Welch on September 24 1983 in Maquoketa Iowa.
Mr. Henry first worked at Joe Martin Auto Sales in Maquoketa as a mechanic from 1978 to 1985. He then worked at Wagener Sales & Service in Maquoketa as a parts manager from 1985 to 1991. For the past twelve years he had owned and operated Tony's Cycle Works in Maquoketa selling and repairing motorcycles and All-Terrain Vehicles (Atv's).
He was baptized in the Methodist faith and was a member of the Abate For Iowa Inc. He loved motorcycles and traveling to rally's and hill climbs. He also enjoyed refurbishing old cars and was always available to help anyone when asked. As an organ/tissue donor Tony gave the gift of sight so that others might see.
He is survived by: his wife- Mary K. Henry of Maquoketa IA; his parents- Lowell & Dianna Henry of Maquoketa IA; his maternal grandmother- Golda Gilmore of Maquoketa IA; & several aunt's uncles & cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents & his maternal grandfather.
A Tony L. Henry Memorial Fund has been established.
