"Dear Soph, Twyla, Norm, Aloha & families, We were so sorry to hear of Uncle Hoot's passing and we want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was such a kind and loving man with a wonderful sense of humor, and I'll always treasure the special memories I have of him. And, I also tend to agree with those of you who've suggested that the 13 McQuillen siblings are having quite a reunion up there about now... and the thought of that makes me smile. I hope it brings you a smile as well, along with the comfort of closure. With love and hugs, Denni & Peter Kann "

"Twla,Norm and Aloha, My sympathy goes out to you at the loss of your Dad. I always thought Hoot a real gentleman, a great family man with a friendly greeting to all. I will never forget how Hoot used to joke with Kara when she was little. He would say Hi Carla, and she would say MY NAME IS KARA! Hootie would just laugh and pat her on the top of her head. It was very obvious in the recent pictures I saw how much Hoot enjoyed his family and friends - Hat parties and all!! HATS OFF TO YOU HOOT, heaven will be blessed with your presence "
