Margaret Evelyn Thurston Garmon, daughter of Samuel Hubert and Leona Alice Wagner Thurston, was born May 7, 1928, in Tipton, Iowa. She was a 1946 graduate of Tipton High School. Margaret was united in marriage to Alva J. Garmon on April 1, 1947 at the Methodist Parsonage in Tipton, Iowa. She worked as a waitress and was a homemaker. Margaret enjoyed14 winters in Alamo, Texas as a snow bird.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Alva Garmon of Tipton, Iowa; daughter, Nancy (Darel) Bruhn of New Liberty, Iowa; grandchildren, Ryan Goethals, Rhonda Wadsworth; great-grandchildren, Taylor Goethals Hale, Jared Goethals, Levi and Mackenzie Wadsworth; sisters, Marie Aegerter of Ratcliff, Arkansas, Velma Mae Robinson of Stanwood, Iowa, Joanne (Bud) Daufeldt of Tipton, Iowa, Glades (Don) Simmons of Tipton, Iowa; brothers, Daniel H. (Pam) Thurston of Battle Creek, Michigan, Rudy P. (Marilyn) Thurston of Tipton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sonja “Stones” Garmon; sister, Violet Wiskus; brothers, Samuel and Jerry Thurston.
