"I was a girl of 11 when I first met Uncle Ed. He visited my family when we were living in Chicago. It was during the War and he was in the Navy stationed at Navy Pier there. He was so handsome in his uniform and I was so proud of him, I introduced him to all my young friends. I don't think I left his side during his entire visit and he kindly put up with me. We always enjoyed his visits when he was in town. We are filled with sorrow at his passing."

"Dear Friends, I still remember the first time I met Ed. It was at the Delft Elevator where he was repairing part of the electrical system. Ed was a man that always make you feel good after you had a visit. It doesn't seem that it was 20 years ago I visited with him at the Ironwood RV Park in Apache Junction. Ed is one of the finest men I have had to opportunity to know. You have my sympathy on your loss."
