In loving memory of

Jana Doolittle
July 1, 1964 - August 24, 2009

Jana was a wonderful gift from God given to us on July 1, 1964.
Born with Down Syndrome, she was raised on the family farm,
north of Webster City. She attended schools in Duncombe and
Fort Dodge, graduating in 1985. She worked at Clarion for
several years before moving to Hampton in 1989 where she joined
the family of Access, Inc. She loved her work, play and "family"
there. Jana died at her home, in Hampton, on August 24, 2009.
Her favorite activity was going to the library. She loved books
and had a least one with her at all times. She belonged to the Church
of Christ in Webster City and thoroughly enjoyed worshiping there
as often as possible.
She was truly a blessing to those she met, had a hug for everyone
and knew no strangers.
Jana is welcomed into God's Eternal Kingdom by her dad, Keith
Doolittle, grandparents, Hal and Winifred Doolittle and Art and Lucille
Seamands, several aunts and uncles and three cousins.
She leaves behind her mom, Mary Lou Doolittle; brother, Wendell
(Eileen) Doolittle; sister, Susan Doolittle; all of Webster City; sisters,
Barb (Don N.) Doolittle of Harlan, IA; Karen (Don) Jorgensen of
Omaha, NE; nieces and nephews, Lindsey, Kelsey and Jared Doolittle;
Derek and Jill Jorgensen; several aunts, uncles, cousins and her family
at Access, Inc.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Cass
Township Cemetery, with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Visitation will
be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until 10:45 a.m..
Memorials may be given to Access, Inc. or the Hampton Public
Library.

"My name is Kathy Brandt and I am the RN at Access. I feel so badly with the loss of my little "pixie" friend. Access and I will miss her and her mischievious little face. I haven't worked directly with Jana since 1999 when Public Health started covering the group homes. But in the years before that I was the nurse for the houses and I worked with Cindy Soper. I got to know Jana fairly well, but not as closely as the direct staff because I wasn't "hands on". I still felt close to Jana because she was such a smiley-faced hugger. Missy Slocum(Meadows Residental Manager) and I have sent a donation to the Hampton Public Library. "

Jana and I would "sneak" into the Access kitchen and sit on the kitchen island and dangle our feet, eat a cookie and giggle. This was our special time together. God Bless the memory of Jana Dolittle and her family."

"LOVED LIVING WITH HER AND MISS HER --DAKOTA Dear Family of Jana Doolittle: I'm so sorry about the death but remember she is in a happy place and she doesn't have to live with the pain and stress anymore. She is living with her father and Jesus now. Which some day we all will be up in heaven with her. Please remember that all of us will be thinking about her every day. Sincerely the whole Access group but especially 6th Ave. "

"As most of you know, Jana's vocabulary was very limited. She used mostly one sign or word at a time to express herself. I take a lot of comfort that the sentence that she used over and over to us all was the sign for "I Love You". What more do you need, right? "
