Henry Edward Froisland
June 21, 1932 - March 3, 2013

Henry Edward Froisland, 80, of Clare, IA passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday March, 3, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday March 7, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Deer Creek Township with burial following at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with full military honors. The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Henry was born in Moorland, IA on June 21, 1932 to Joseph and Esther (Johnson) Froisland. He graduated from the Moorland High School. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1951-1954 and then married Belva Lael Rose later in 1954. For many years Henry worked as a fertilizer salesman, served as a volunteer fire fighter, was a baseball coach, and led as the Mayor of Clare. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 570, Henry raised his family to be fishermen and they still carry on the tradition.
Henry is survived by his children Edward (Sharon) Froisland of Bradgate, John (Joyce) Froisland of Emmetsburg, Theresa Froisland of Humboldt, Steve (Ruth Ann) Froisland of Fort Dodge, Arlene Froisland-Boles of Humboldt and Brenda Froisland (Mary Chilvers) of St. Paul, MN; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and his sister Viola (Leo) Peterson of Templeton. He was preceded in death by his wife Belva; parents Joseph and Esther; brothers Floyd, Clifford and Joe Froisland; sisters Arlene Froisland and Mabel Rodenberg, son-in-law Randy Boles and an infant granddaughter.
