Connie Sue Giffin Miller
November 9, 1951 - April 4, 2013

Ms. Connie Sue Giffin Miller, 61, of Burlington died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Great River Medical Center as a result of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. She was a survivor of breast cancer and bladder cancer.
Born November 9, 1951 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Walter A. and Ruth E. (Alderson) Giffin. In April 1976 she married Dennis Eugene Miller. They later divorced.
Ms. Miller worked in housekeeping for four years at Great River Medical Center and at I.A.A.P. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing and calling Bingo, working jigsaw puzzles, watching soap operas and time spent with her grandchildren and was devoted to her family.. She was a people person and cared for others. She enjoyed her extended family at Autumn Heights.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Leonard Lock)Miller and Rachel Miller, both of Burlington; grandchildren; step grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Forsythe of Donnellson and Linda Giffin and Bonnie Bell, both of Burlington; one brother, Rollen Giffin of Crestview, Florida and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Rebecca Miller; and one grandson.

"she was the best grandma ever. We loved doing everything together in the last couple of years i had with her in her apartment. we loved doing jigsaw puzzles and watching tv. grandma taught me alot and will always be in my heart"

"Your family truely miss you. We understand you dealt with the pain as long as you could. We will always remember everything you taught us to carry on your wisdom, intellegence and love. The children will continue to grow with you watching from above, remembering the special grandma they had the priveledge to meet. I love you and not a day will go by that I will not think of you. I know you love me even though I now can not hear you say it back. I am proud of you from overcoming more than most could imagine. I know you knew your purpose was the devotion and compassion you had for us, we love you and will never forget what you have taught us and sacrificed for us. Thank You."
