Virginia Presler, 79, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Matthew Martens officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Jack; her ten children, Karla Presler of Decorah, IA, Sharla (Dale) Baker of Fort Dodge, Mark Presler of International Falls, MN, Maetha (Tim) Passow of Fort Dodge, Alisa Johnson of Fort Dodge, John Presler of Fort Dodge, Andrea Presler of Roslyn, Washington, Joella (Todd Sorensen) Steffenson of Clarion, IA, Tanya (Shane) Harrison of Humboldt, IA, and Amelia "Amy" Presler of Fort Dodge; 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Paula) Kunde of Backus, MN and a sister, Florence Blankenship of South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert; her sister, Alice Kunde; a grandson, Richard Smith Jr.; and a son-in-law, Art Hoppin.
Virginia Mary Kunde, the daughter of Robert and Clara (Hyndman) Kunde was born December 27, 1933 in Litchfield, MN and graduated from the Backus High School in Backus. MN. After Virginia graduated from high school, she moved to Fort Dodge where she met Jack Presler. On September 13, 1953 she married Jack in Backus, MN and after their marriage the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Virginia worked at home raising her ten children. She loved cooking and baking for her family and in her spare time she made quilts for her children, grandchildren and great grand children.
Virginia was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was part of the Willing Workers Quilting Group at Grace.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
