Priscilla "Peg" Nelson, 78, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, May 10th at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Peg is survived by her husband, James; three sons, James P. (Lizann) Nelson and Jay Nelson both of Milwaukee, WI, and Jeff (Kathy) Nelson of Fort Dodge; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Patricia Sjaastad and a brother, William Stevick.
Priscilla "Peg" Stevick, the daughter of William and Harriette (McAlmond) Stevick was born July 23, 1934 in Minot, North Dakota and graduated from the Minot High School. On December 20, 1955 Peg married James L. Nelson in Minot. North Dakota. After they marriage the couple lived in Menomonie, Wisconsin later moving to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and in 1969, the family moved to Fort Dodge. Peg had various part time jobs while they lived in Fort Dodge but she loved being a wife and mother to her family. In 2009, her husband moved to Friendship Haven and Peg continued to live at home until the end of April of this year when she moved to the Tompkins Memorial Health Center in Fort Dodge.
