MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - Douglas Wayne Noble, 52, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Mt. Pleasant.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. that evening. A memorial has been established in his name.

Douglas was born on April 13, 1961, in Muscatine, to Dean Edward and Betty Jean George Noble. He was a 1982 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. On March 9, 1985, he married Karen S. Hanna in Mt. Pleasant. The couple later divorced.

He was a cement finisher who worked for H. Eugene Smith Construction, and most recently was employed by Robert L. Smith Construction.

His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He enjoyed metal detecting, and collected coins and arrowhead. He liked to fish, camp and cook and especially enjoyed smoking meat.

Survivors include daughters, Krystal Perez and husband, Edgar, and Laura Noble, both of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Kyle Noble of Mt. Pleasant; a grandson, Austin Tyler Adams of Mt. Pleasant; a grandchild to be born in October; three brothers, Mike Noble and Judy Gholson, of Salem, Danny Noble of New London, and Dean Noble of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Lynn Szewczyk and husband, Kenny; his girlfriend, Sandra Hoover, Wayland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Deana "Katy" Brook and Debbie Carpenter.
