Tassia Toubekis

Tassia Toubekis of Keokuk, Iowa, died at 10:34 P.M., Monday, June 17, 2013, at her home.
Tassia was born February 14th in Lasteika, Greece, the daughter of Kristos and Elene (Panalotopolos) Konstantopoulos. In 1965 she married Spiros Toubekis in Montreal, Canada. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2002.
Tassia moved to Keokuk in 1969 and attended the Greek Orthodox Church in Springfield, Missouri. She loved to bake, especially Greek pastries, and won multiple baking contests. Tassia enjoyed being outside taking care of her yard and gardening, but she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, George Toubekis and his wife Kelly of Dallas, Texas, and Pete Toubekis of Keokuk, her sister Demetra Alexandropoulas of Burlington, her brother Danny Konstantopoulos of Greece, her four grandchildren Katie, Spiro and Alexis Toubekis and Haley Toombs, and her nieces and nephews Chris, Andy and Elaine Constantine. She is also survived by Helen and Deana Konstantopoulos, George and Mike Alexandropoulas, George and Kia Toubekis, George, Kia and Koula Toubekis, and brother-in-law and sister-in-laws Danny, Mary and Sivlos Toubekis.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and a daughter, Kia.
A celebration of her life will be 11 A.M. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street with Father Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa.
Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 P.M.
