Mrs. Esther L. Retzer, passed away late Monday evening, July 22, 2013 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old. Esther was born July 15, 1933 in Newburg, the daughter of John and Genevieve Haug Adamczyk. On May 8, 1954 she was united in marriage with James Retzer at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. He preceded her in death in 1997.For 17 years, Esther worked as an inspector at Rockwell Automation in Mequon. She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. Esther had participated in the Silver Sneakers program through the YMCA. She enjoyed bingo, pets (especially her beloved lab Sandy), and making new friends at Lasata Care Center where she had been Resident of the Month earlier this year. Esther is survived by two sons: Dennis (Luanne) of Port Washington and Joseph (Debra) of Grafton, sisters Evie (Norbert) Krautkramer of Newburg and Ruth Primas of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, July 26, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 430 Johnson St., Port Washington. Esther will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday afternoon from 1-2:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ozaukee Humane Society. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is honored to be serving the family.
