Ellen A. Binsfeld
Ellen Binsfeld, of Newburg, formerly of Port Washington and St. Germain passed away peacefully at her residence in Newburg in the morning hours of Tuesday, July 23, 2013. She was 87 years old. Ellen was born in Random Lake on August 8, 1925, daughter of Peter Kies and Johanna Kirst Kies. On June 14, 1947 she married George Binsfeld at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Random Lake. He preceded her in death in 2009. Ellen worked as an accountant for Milwaukee Area Technical College in both Port Washington and in Mequon for over 25 years. Her and her husband also owned and operated the La Vista Ballroom in Grafton. The couple retired and moved north to St. Germain where Ellen continued working as a parish secretary for the local Catholic Church. Ellen was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Port Washington. She enjoyed playing cards with her card club and cooking. She is survived by her two children Luann Guetzke of Newburg and Robert Binsfeld of Glendale. She is further survived by four grandchildren: Tiffany, Calista (Matthew), Clifford, and Jordan, two great-grandchildren Lana and Brant, two brothers Roy (Doris) Kies of Milwaukee and Robert (Maryann) Kies of Oak Creek, two sisters Yvonne Van Treeck of Grafton and Sally Hammond of Tomahawk, WI, one sister-in-law Marie (the late Sylvan) Wetor of Adell, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 26th, 6 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will be presiding. She will be laid to rest next to her husband George at St. Germain Cemetery. Visitation at the CHURCH Friday July 26th from 5-6 PM.
