"I am so sorry for the loss of Scott. He was my cousin. I have a fond memory that I would like to share. At Christmas time, Scott was asked to play Santa, at our Grandpa and Grandma Knaak's Christmas celebration. He came to me and asked me to be Santa's helper. I remember being so happy that he had chosen me to help him with this task. We went to my Aunt and Uncle's house to get ready. I helped him get dressed in the Santa suit and I put on the elf costume and off we would go to hand out the gifts for the evening. As a younger cousin to him, he was someone that I looked up to. He had a way of making everyone feel special. "

Jody Brown wrote on Oct 20, 2013:

"My fondest memory of Scott was when he was Santa at the Knaak Family Christmas. As a child I always feared Santa however when it was Scott I was not scared. I know now as an adult it was Scott's kind eyes and that spark that always appeared when he smiled that made me feel safe. I'm so relieved that I had a chance to visit with Scott at my Dad's (Marlin Knaak) 70th birthday Party in March. It reminded me of those fond memories that I will always cherish of my cousin Scott. Please accept my sincere condolences at this most difficult time. "

Val Erickson wrote on Oct 20, 2013:

"I was Scott's Aunt for 21 years when I was married to his Uncle and Godfather Marlin. After we had separated I received a wonderful letter from Scott. He wanted to make sure I was o.k. and to tell me that I would always be his Aunt. In March Jenny & Jody hosted a 70th Birthday Party for their Dad. Scott and his Dad attended and I got to visit with them. I had not seen Scott in years. I will treasure that visit forever. It breaks my heart to know that a good person was taken to soon. You have my deepest sympathy. "
