Ronald "Buddy" Bahr, of Belgium, passed away in the evening hours of Friday, November 8, 2013 at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was 74 years old. Buddy was born in Dacada on September 9, 1939, son of Frank Bahr and Agnes Hubing Bahr. As a young man he worked on many local farms and also drove for Wayside Dairy in Belgium. On June 17, 1961 he married Patricia Becker at St. Nicholas Church in Dacada. The couple settled in Belgium to raise their family. Buddy worked as a welder for Simplicity Manufacturing for over 40 years, retiring in 2005. Buddy was a member of Divine Savior Parish, a 45 year member of the Belgium Fire Department, the Catholic Knights, and a retired member of IAM Local 1430. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren at sporting events, watching the Packers, playing sheepshead, bowling, farming and was a fixture in the stands during Friday night softball games in Belgium. He is survived by his four children: Timothy (longtime companion Jamie Southall) Bahr of Belgium, Jean (Dave) Weyker of Belgium, Gary (Stacey) Bahr of Sheboygan, and Christopher (Tina) Bahr of Cedar Grove. He is further survived by five grandchildren; Eric (fiancé Meghan Johnson), Lyndsey and Briana Weyker, Alexis and Olivia Bahr, one great-grandson Wyatt, special friend Joan Schommer of Belgium, siblings Margaret "Peggy" (Charles "Skippy") Bichler of Belgium, James (Elaine) Bahr of Bonduel, Richard "Butch" (Lois) Bahr of West Bend, his mother-in-law Evelyn (the late Ray) Becker of Port Washington, three sisters-in-law Betty (Carl) Bostwick of Port Washington, Carol (Russell) Larson of Manitowoc and Kathy (Fred "Fritz"') Learned of Port Washington, one brother-in-law Joe (the late Audrey) Sanem of West Bend nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother Harold (the late Marlene) Bahr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 13th at 7 PM at Divine Savior Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, in Belgium. Father Jim Ernster will preside. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Lake Church. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 13th at the CHURCH from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the caring staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
