Nancy A. Long, 55, died at 4:10 A.M., March 21, 2014, at her home in Keokuk, Iowa.
Nancy was born on June 10, 1958, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Robert E. and Elizabeth D. "Babe" Grice Schard. She was a lifelong resident of Keokuk, a member of All Saints Catholic Church, and she operated a home and business cleaning service. Nancy was a devoted and caring mother, and always put others before herself. If you knew Nancy, you were a better person because of it.
Nancy is survived by her two sons: Christopher R. Long of Montrose, Iowa; and Steven R. Long of Keokuk, Iowa; one brother, Michael E. Schard (Rosalie) of Overland Park, Kansas; two nephews: Michael (Allison) Schard of Denver, Colorado; and Daniel Schard of Overland Park, Kansas; and one niece, Molly Schard of Overland Park, Kansas. Other survivors include a great niece and a great nephew and her special friend Brad Babington. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church. Burial at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk will immediately follow the service. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11A.M. directly before the service at the church. Father Robert Lathrop will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Great River Hospice or donor's choice.
