In loving memory of

John "Jack" Williams
December 14, 1941 - March 27, 2014

John Robert "Jack" Williams, age 72, of Crystal Falls, MI died peacefully Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Unity Hospice in Green Bay after a courageous 10 year battle with Lymphoma. Jack was born in La Crosse, WI on December 14, 1941 to Robert and Marie (Eden) Williams. After surviving polio as a youth, Jack grew up strong on the family farm in La Crescent Township. On April 8, 1961 Jack married the girl next door, Clydene Meindel. For 26 years Jack and Clyde lived in La Crescent Township and raised three children, where Jack was employed by the former Cooler Co. and operated his own HVAC repair business. In 1986 Jack moved to Green Bay, WI and was fortunate to work for U.S. Oil (Design Air Division). Jack moved to his beloved Swan Lake in the U.P. of Michigan in 1998, and retired from Design Air in 2004. Not long after retirement his battle began, and he faced his challenges with strength and dignity. Jack loved his family, he liked to laugh and tell stories, really enjoyed a good game of cards, cribbage and horseshoes, and he loved playing golf with his pals in Crystal Falls.
Jack is survived by his wife, Clydene and three children, Kim (Keith) Grimes, Kari (Wayne) Dugas, both of Temple, NH, and John (Kelly) of Suamico, WI; ten grandchildren; sisters, Sue Williams, Carol Jorgenson, Alice (Gene) Radtke, Cheryl (Terry) Peterson, Mary Papenfuss, and Kathy Williams; in-laws Arlene (Mike) Burns, Kay (Larry) Schweizer, Sandy (Bob) Klusmeyer, Alan (Candy) Meindel, and Donny Meindel. Jack was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy, his parents, Robert and Marie, his parents- in-law and two brothers-in-law, Archie Jorgenson and Mike Papenfuss.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the Village of Howard, 2597 Glendale Avenue, from 10:00 A.M. to Noon. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon at the church with the Rev. John Bergstadt officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.

The family would like to recognize and extend great thanks to Dr. John Loewen of Niagara/Iron Mountain for his personal and attentive care, to Green Bay Oncology and Dr. Brian Burnette for the continuation opportunities afforded to Jack's life and to Unity Hospice for their love through the transition.

"Please accept this expression of warm sympathy regarding the death of your loved one. The bible makes this promise: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." (Re. 21:4, 5 Jesus said:..."the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear my voice and come out. (John 5: 28, 29) May the " The God of all comfort" bring you peace with this wonderful resurrection hope. "

"I remember uncle Jack as a guy that never complained, never seen him angry, and could lift your spirits up just with his smile & words. My wife Becky to this day remembers how Jack made her feel like family, when I started dating her. Also remember the crap he gave us about the Vikings!! Oh yes, the card games, & family get togethers!! You will be sadly missed Jack, but will always be in our memories!!! Until we meet again, keep the cards ready!!! -Randy Papenfuss"

"Jack and my brother, David were very close as kids. I remember visiting the farm in La Crescent, sitting around the large kitchen table with Aunt Marie and Uncle Bob. Jack, being the only boy had lots of chores. I am glad we had a chance to visit Jack in Crystal Falls. Just after he retired. Best wishes to your family. "
