In loving memory of

Barbara Jean McGuire
April 10, 1944 - April 18, 2014

Barbara Jean McGuire, daughter of Lawrence and Matilda (Neuman) Lappe, was born on April 10, 1944 in Algona, IA. She died on Friday, April 18, 2014, at Kossuth Regional Hospital at the age of 70.

She received her education at Saint John's Catholic School in Bancroft, IA. Upon graduating from high school, on July 3, 1962, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Martin (Marty) McGuire who was in the United States Air Force at the time. Barbara maintained the business accounting for the trucking company. Their marriage brought forth six children. Barbara thoroughly enjoyed being a devoted wife and loving mother who encouraged and supported her children in all of their endeavors. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as taking rides through the countryside or learning more about her family history. Barbara could often times be found working in the outdoors she so loved.

Throughout her life, Barbara was an active member of Saint John's, Saint Cecelia's, and Saint Joseph Catholic Churches. She served the ministries of adoration chapel, prayer group, and leading the rosary. For many years, she prayed the rosary with the residents at the Algona Manor. Her faith was very important to her.
