"Denise, you will be greatly missed. You had the best sense of humor. I'll never forget the many mornings and nights we would chat about everything going on. I'll never forget how you helped me out with my grandma when she was sick or the many mornings I would come on to the unit, with the thermostat turned up all the way, wearing your long Johns. Or your nickname for me. I miss you, D. "

"I've know Denise for over 20 years. She always had a smile on her face and an infectious giggle that would in turn make me giggle. No matter what the situation was, she had an optimistic attitude and would say "It"ll be ok". She had a heart of gold and would give or do anything for you.We were not only friends but we also worked together at several different facilities and i tell ya, she was a great nurse! She was a very hard worker and had an enormous amount of compassion for her patients and co-workers. After people pass, sometimes others say how nice and kindhearted they were and it's simply not true but with Denise it is absolutely and completely true! Anyone that knows her will agree with this. She loved her kids, family and her friends and everyone loved her-how could you not-she was just wonderful. She was and is a true angel thats life was taken way to early. I know that she is looking down at everyone with a smile and saying "everything will be ok". She will be missed by all but her infectious spirit will remain within us. Thank you Denise for being a great friend and always making me smile! "

" We worked in the same facility. I had recently got the opportunity to work along with her on the same unit. She was a joy to talk to. She had a way of making me relax and enjoy the moment. The last thing I said to her before leaving work , " I wish I could stay and have a cup of coffee with you ." Of course she told me to stay. She loved her coffee as I do. She will be missed by so many."

"There are too many happy memories to just give one. Anyone that knew Denise was touched by her smile, her generosity, her, kindness, her laughter and the list goes on. She was truly an Angel sent from heaven and will be greatly missed. We all loved her, but GOD loved her more. I thank him for lending us his Angel in the physical realm, but I thank him more for granting her with wings of gold to be able to watch over each and everyone of us at any given time. Thank you Denise for being such a good friend. You always had my back and always will."

Jennifer Parks wrote on May 1, 2014:

"My memory is one of the best nurses that I had ever worked under. She was always willing to throw in a helping hand and took great care of her residents and nurse aides. I always will remember her for this. I don't recall a time working with her that she didn't have a smile on her face no matter what the situation. Rest in peace sweetheart, you will be remembered always!! "

"My favorite memory is when we were very little. We decided to run away but I don't know why. You made peanut butter sandwiches and I packed toys. I walked 4 houses down the street, ready to set out on our adventure but it was dusk and we couldn't think of anywhere to go and I had to be home before dark, so our plan was ruined, LoL. Bless your heart. I am so sorry. When Barry told me who you were on Facebook, I was happy to reconnect as we lost touch so many yearsa go. I am glad you were my childhood friend."

Gina Fulcher wrote on May 1, 2014:

"I am lucky enough to have had her as my mother for over 27years. She's taught me how to love and care, how to have compassion, she raised me to always be polite and respectful to anyone I come across.... but she didn't teach me these things with words, she taught me with her actions. Because of her I know how to be a mother. She was also the BEST nurse! I wanted to follow in her footsteps and be just like her when I became older because I realized there's really no other way to be. Happy, forgiving, strong, loving, selfless. She ALWAYS had a smile on her face that would make everyone laugh! She always had all of the answers.... my mom was the best at everything she did, even without trying- and all of our lives will be different now, but I will see her in heaven and I'm patient enough to do so."

Kim Brooks McKinley wrote on May 1, 2014:
