Bonnie Krill, of Cedar Grove, formerly of Brookfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 72 years old. Bonnie was born in Milwaukee the oldest of eight siblings on January 4, 1942 daughter of Joseph Campbell and Betty Stengel Campbell. Bonnie grew up in Milwaukee graduating from Pius XI in 1960. After high school, Bonnie worked at WITI Channel 6 in Milwaukee. On September 4, 1965 she married David Krill at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The couple settled in Brookfield to raise their family, and where Bonnie worked as a Fitness Specialist for the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee for over 25 years. She was very active and supportive at St. Luke's, St. Joseph's and St. John Vianney, Marquette High School and Pius XI Catholic schools where her children attended. She was an active member of Gesu Parish in Milwaukee, a past-president of the Milwaukee Archdiocesan School Board, a past Board of Director of Pius XI, and a current member of the Marquette University Womens Council. Bonnie's Christian passion and purpose in life was caring for others. She was an avid volunteer at Feith Family YMCA as a LiveSTRONG and Yoga instructor among various other initiatives for others. She was often caring for her beloved grandchildren in Port Washington, WI and Park City, UT. She loved hiking in the mountains of Colorado and walking the shores of Lake Michigan with her family. Her grandchildren knew her as "Kayo". Kayo found peace, pride, purpose and adventure through caring for those she loved. Bonnie stayed young at heart spending most of her time playing with and caring for her grandchildren. She accepted all and was seen by many as an abundance of optimism and life wisdom. She was a fantastic listener and supported anyone who needed a shoulder; from homeless men at the Guest House Shelter in Milwaukee, WI to her immediate family.
Bonnie is survived by her husband David G. Krill of Cedar Grove, her children Kevin (Marilyn) Krill of Crested Butte, CO, Brian Krill of Park City, UT, and Keelyn (Todd) Lyon of Port Washington, WI. She is further survived by five grandchildren; Hannah, Braillyn, Addison, Piper, and Brytn, her seven siblings; Barbara (Gary) Weis of Silverthorne, CO, Jeanne Campbell of San Diego, CA, Jill (Jeff) Eaton of Orlando, FL, James (MaryKaye) Campbell of Mequon, WI, Susan (Charlie) Persch of Milwaukee, WI, Tommy Campbell of Pocasset, MA and Corky BJ (Dan) Plecki of Mequon, WI, three brothers-in-law, Edward (Cecy) Krill of Vienna, VA, Tom (Katie) Krill of Wauwatosa, and Bill (Char) Krill of Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, granddog "Buster", other relatives and many, many lifelong friends. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Betty Campbell and her in-laws Edward and Lois Krill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 12 noon at Gesu Parish in Milwaukee. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Monday, May 5th from 9:30 AM until 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, Marquette University High School, or Pius XI High School. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is honored to serve the family.

"Dave,
It was only this past Wednesday (June 18) that I learned about Bonnie's passing. As many have expressed, my heart aches for your loss and ours: she was a beautiful spirit and was greatly responsible for encouraging my leadership growth at West Suburban when I had to fill her shoes as Fitness Director. I am a wiser woman because of her mentoring. She touched so many of us and enriched our lives. My most sincere sympathies to you and yours. God's peace. Pat Kappel"

"Dear David . . . I just learned of Bonnie's passing this morning and so very sorry for your loss. The memories of us all working together at the "Y", and being part of her groundbreaking ideas for the very first aerobic class "Shape-Up" are memories that will and have remained with me for such a long time. Bonnie was a beautiful person, inside and out, and one couldn't help but be happy just being in her company; her personality and warmth were infectious. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and know Bonnie is with you always. We are all better for having known her."

"Dear Dave,
We were shocked and very saddened to hear about Bonnie's untimely death. We were always impressed with Bonnie's cheerfulness and social contributions to the mortgage banking world. We are now even more impressed with her charitable involvement and contributions. She will be missed by many.
I often look back on those glory years. It was great that we were all friendly competitors, contributed to our industry and enjoyed being together socially. Wish we could do it all over and I would not change a thing.
With Great Sympathy,
Jim and Linda Schneider"

Dave, may the pain you are feeling now, lessen in the weeks and months to come eventually being replaced by some joy and happiness. I wish you well, my friend, as you heal. God Bless You! "When Dave and Bonnie moved in next door to our summer home an instant friendship developed. This is a friendship that cut to the chase, always deep and very rewarding, I always looked forward to her energy on the beach as we would kick off another summer season. Her caring persona extended to our Mom and Dad as they grew older and I could always count on a welcoming and loving hug from her. I will miss you Bonnie, but I know your energy will be here whenever we listen, thank you!!!"

"One can not understand, truly, the plans God has for us in our lives, but yet, it is through our faith in Him that we find our strength. Mrs. Krill always lived that way. I will always remember how no matter what, whenever I saw her, she had a smile to share. She will be greatly missed as I know she was for all of you, the "rock" of your family and you were all so very close. She will forever bless you with her examples and her love.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
Jennifer Romine (and children)"

Our hearts and prayers are with all of her family and friends who will also miss her terribly.
With our love,

"She was my Auntie! She showered me with love both tough love and gentle love. She lived her life with great conviction and inspired and influenced me greatly. Auntie Bonnie and Uncle David generously ushered me into the greatest part of my life by hosting my "OUTDOOR in OCTOBER in WISCONSIN" wedding. She was always up for a challenge, always ready with a helping hand, always there to listen and not judge. She left us a great gift in the amazing family she raised - I treasure them - and I will miss - so very much - my Auntie Bonnie!"
