Robert "Bob" Ray Burr
November 28, 1937 - June 1, 2014

Robert "Bob" Ray Burr, 76, of Burlington, died 2:52 a.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington.
Born on November 28, 1937 in Beloit, Wisconsin, he was the son of Lauren Ray and Jeness (Mayes) Burr. He married Carol Kelley Amenell on November 23, 1983 in Burlington.
He was a 1955 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He then graduated from Western Illinois University and Michigan State. Mr. Burr was a farmer and taught Agriculture at Western Illinois University.
He loved to read history and learn from it, most of the time stopping only for a game of Bridge and traveling. In earlier years he was a Boy Scout leader. Most of his time was spent farming on the four generation family farm in Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Burr of Burlington; one daughter, Lisa (Brent) Corman of Joplin, Missouri; two sons, Harley (Angela) Burr of O'Fallon, Missouri and Wesley Burr of Fort Madison, Iowa; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Brendan) Moore of Webb City, Missouri, Alexander Burr, Elaina Burr and Benjamin Burr all of O'Fallon, Missouri; one great granddaughter, Hadlee Moore of Webb City, Missouri; two brothers, Harley W. Burr and George (Claire) Burr both of California and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Alan Burr, and one sister in infancy.
The memorial funeral service for Mr. Burr will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5th in Lunning Chapel. Rev. Dean Graber will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
