"I only learned of Ernie's passing today. I only knew Ernie briefly when he lived in Azzurra, but he was always kind and generous and am grateful for those moments, such as brunch at the yacht club, drinks at his apartment and a trip on his yacht. "

"By happenstance, I was at Moog Chatsworth (Schaeffer Magnetics) on Wednesday 7/16/14. I was meeting with the employees (recognizing excellent performance) and reminiscing about the good old days working with Ernie and Max on the Iridium program. I was shocked when they told me Ernie had passed. Ernie was a great man and a brilliant design engineer. I was blessed to know him and work with him when I was in my twenties. I learned quite a bit about motors, but also about running a business. He shaped some of my earliest attitudes and opinions. We didn't always agree, but that's what made Ernie great. Thanks Ernie...
