In loving memory of

Jordan Ulicki
September 1, 1992 - July 13, 2014

Jordan Michael Ulicki, AKA "Gentle Ginger," age 21, was taken home to be with the Lord in a God-appointed four-wheeler accident, along with his girlfriend, Sadie Foreman, age 20, on Sunday, July 13, 2014.

Jordan was born on September 1, 1992 in Anaheim, CA and moved to Fort Dodge when he was three years old. He was a faithful member of Harvest Baptist Church and has always been excited to be at church, serving wherever he could. As a child, he loved participating in various children programs that he later enjoyed the opportunity to lead in those same programs. He was a faithful worker and leader on the Webster City bus route and taught in the five year old Children Church.

Jordan was homeschooled until the 9th grade when he was enrolled in Harvest Baptist High School and graduated in 2011. Throughout school, his cheerful smile and contagious laugh was an encouragement to everyone around him. As the class clown, he both frustrated and entertained his teachers on a daily basis. Once he graduated from high school, he followed his desire to help people and graduated Iowa Central Community College with his Associates in Fire Science and was working towards completing his EMT/paramedic degree. Though he found it difficult to concentrate on his studies because of his love for people, God, and his servant spirit, he was determined to finish his studies and work as a fire fighter.

In addition to his school life, there were few people that could keep up with him when he started to work. He started a lawn service with his brother Jerod, which he managed until his death, moved furniture for A-1 Moving, and worked for his father in Diamond Detailing. Though he worked hard, he managed to keep enough energy to play harder. He loved to spend time four-wheeling, paintballing, shooting, SCUBA diving, and anything else that he considered exciting.

His outgoing personality, flaming red hair, and unique stature made him a giant teddy bear, a shoulder to cry on, a sound advisor, and a friend to everyone. He knew no strangers and his heart was bigger than his frame. His love for Christ, recently took him to Malawi, Africa where he spent a month working in a missionary camp.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Peggy Ulicki, his older brother Jerod, and his younger sister Janae, his grandparents Bob and Jan Samuelson of Ames, IA. In addition to those listed above, he is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and self-proclaimed siblings including Miracle Holder and Dennis Grandinetti. Jordan is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Norma Ulicki, infant half sister Melody Anne Ulicki all of Fort Dodge, IA.

Jordan's funeral service will be 10:00AM, Friday, July 18th at Decker Auditorium at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 17th at Gunderson's Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00PM.

"Jordan was a man of God, loved his family and friends and his Saviour. His heart for people, servants spirit and outgoing personality made him hard not to love. Jordan never demanded respect from anyone, but EVERYONE who knew him freely gave him their respect because he earned it. You could depend on what Jordan told you and if he said he was a man of his word. He was always available to lend a hand, give a pat on the back or act as a sounding board for ideas. We loved him greatly, miss him dearly and anxiously await seeing him on the other side. Until then, my dear friend - rest in peace and keep the light on for us. Mark, Laurie, Ashlyn, MacKenzie & Paige"

"Dear Folks; I will not be able to get away for this afternoon as hoped. Be assured of my prayers for you in this time of sorrow. Sunday night was very hard for me, knowing what you were encountering, and how I would have to provide professional care as a chaplain as my heart was breaking for you. Your testimony of trust in our loving and gracious God, and acceptance of this terrible tragedy was a witness to all us us in healthcare. Blessings & Peace in your time of trial. Phil "

"Jordan was an amazing person and such a complete gentleman..I have been lucky enough to be able to make some more recent memories with him through school. We took a class together 2 different semesters and grew a close bond...he was always getting us in some sort of trouble with the teacher but when we would get confronted about the situation he would blame me and wiggle his way out with some very clever remarks. Gosh, I love this guy and although i love all my cousin's, this guy definitely holds a very special place in my heart like no other. He will be missed so much by my kids and I. No one deserves to lose their life at a young age but Jordan is at the top of the list because he is a person like no other. All I can say is I love him very very much. His bright red hair and that very contagious smile will forever be in my mind. To his Mom and Dad: You guys did an amazing job raising all of your kids and thank you for sharing him with us. If you were to ever ask the question on how you could have done a better job, my answer would have been impossible because there were no flaws with this one. I miss him already but I will someday get to see him again."
