GAI T. NGUYEN
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Gai T. Nguyen, 90, of Muscatine, died early Sunday morning, October 19, 2014, at Unity Point Muscatine.
Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October, 21, 2014, at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
A private Buddhist ceremony will be performed by the Quan Am Temple from East Moline, Illinois. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Kim Marler.
Mrs. Gai T. Nguyen was born June 15, 1924, in Ha Dong, Vietnam, the daughter of Kham Nguyen and Chau Pham. She married Thuc Dinh on January 28, 1944 in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. She relocated to the United States in 1975, and has been living in Muscatine for over 39 years.
Gai loved her family and had a passion for fishing, reading and gardening. She was not only a loving and caring mother, she was also a warm and delightful person. She will be tremendously missed by her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters Kimdung Dinh and husband Phong Nguyen; Kim Marler and husband Donald; two sons, Tri Dinh; and Dzung Dinh; a brother Hieu Nguyen; a grandson, Bao Nguyen; a granddaughter, Athena Dinh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953; a son Hung Dinh in 1976; a brother Phao Nguyen; and a sister Gai (baby Gai) Nguyen.
