"I saw your dad's shop this summer when I stayed at Straz Tower for the fisrt time with family for Irish Fest. I loved the shop and the tribute to a beloved barber and family member. Seeing the shop just stopped me in my tracks. I knew that there was a lot of history there and a lot of love. I live in a Chicago in a building that was a YMCA until the late '80's when it became apartments and then condos. Sadly, we do not have a barber shop or a favorite barber. Marquette was lucky ...and is lucky to have the tradition continue. My brother sometimes works in Milwaukee, and tonight I sent him a text suggesting he stop by. All the best to you, Catherine Ward "

"Bob taught me everything! Or so he would tell you he did! He DID however teach me how to solder pipes in the barbershop! He said dont hire anyone you can do it yourself! From tiling to putting knockdown on walls he showed me how. He said he taught me how to cut hair but thank goodness that wasnt true! I will truly miss him, his humor and his sarcasm! People have asked me how can you be working at a time like this! Its very comforting to be in the barbershop, I feel like he is there with me. RIP Bob-Jenny"

"Jeanne and Family, Our prayers are with you in this trying time. Sorry we could not be with you, but we have had a mass said in his honor. Bob was one of my favorite cousins. I will remember him often: When I see someone playing cards with exuberance I will remember the times at Grandma's dining room table, when I see someone enjoying golf for the comradery and good times, I will remember our last round with dad, whenever I get a haircut I will remember that the barbers don't get paid enough and need to be tipped handily, and whenever I eat a great hot dog I will remember all the times you and he kept us supplied on your trips south. We will miss him, but know that he will always be remembered by many of us for the special examples he set! Love Mike and Becki"

"Bob was my barber since my freshman year at Marquette University. He always said you never came to his establishment for the haircut but for the insults and jokes. His politically incorrect humor and laughter will be missed. I considered him not only my barber but a trusted advisor and friend. Thank you for being part of my years at Marquette University. You made my journey fun and special."

"My deepest condolenses to Bob's entire family. Bob had a wonderful way of making everyone he encountered feel special - including me. He wouldn't let a visit go by without a warm hearted jab - and he was as interested in my stories as I was in his. He was a very important part of my 17 years at Marquette, and the memory of Bob will always bring a smile to my face. I will miss him."

"Bob "Beano" (to me) Krebsbach was my friend. From grade school, to peddling the Milwaukee Journal as kids to joining the Navy together. I will miss him, and his irreverent insults, to any and every one. He was one of the "characters" that all of us are proud to have had in our lives."

John Hughes wrote on Jan 24, 2015:

"I've been one of Bob's customers since the 80's, along with many others who worked at Milwaukee Insurance. I was in the shop just before Christmas, and I heard about Bob's doctoring, but assumed it was just routine maintenance. I will miss his wit and great personality. I am one of the Lococo family uncles, so I knew Bob on many levels."

"Got to know Bob as a result of my son recommending Bob. My son started having Bob cut his hair as far back as 1989. Bob was a guy who always had a comment or story to tell which make the trip to the barber a delight. God bless Bob who is lining up customers now in heaven. "
