LONE TREE, Iowa -- Duane Fred Stock Sr., 91, of Lone Tree, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Windmill Manor in Coralville.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at the Lone Tree American Legion. Burial will take place in Lone Tree Cemetery. Following services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home.
Duane was born on February 2, 1923, in Lone Tree, the son of Fred and Leona Timmerman Stock. He was a 1941 graduate of Lone Tree High School. Duane married Arlyne Chance on September 13, 1947, in Rock Island, Illinois, and later divorced.
Duane will be deeply missed by his children, Sue Ellyn Anthony and husband, Tom, and Duane Stock Jr. and wife, Deb; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Haugh and husband, Brad, Melissa Swartzendruber and husband, Shawn, Heather and Hannah Glick, and Dana, Adam and Jordan Stock; five great-grandchildren, Kaia Haugh and Megan, Cole, Tyler and Jaxon Swartzendruber; a niece, Adele Stock; and a sister-in-law, Adeline Stock.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary; one brother, Leland; a niece, Sherrie Klemp; and dear friend, Barbara Sternad.
