In loving memory of

Maura Siobhan Neuens
April 17, 1969 - March 6, 2015

WHITEFISH BAY/WAUNAKEE-Neuens, Maura S. Age 45. Passed away courageously after an 11-month battle with brain cancer on March 6, 2015. Maura was a caring and loving wife to Shannon for 19 years and a devoted and adoring mother to her three children, Jack (14 years), Nellie (12 years) and Seamus (7 years). She was preceded in death by her father, John M. Grogan, Sr., in July of 2013 and her brother Mark, in May of 2014. She is survived by her mother, Joan C. Grogan, Milwaukee; and five siblings and their spouses: Gretchen (Peter Donahue) Grogan, Ellen (Matthew) Carberry, John (Denise) Grogan, Jr., Amy (Charles Smith) Grogan and Molly (Sean Lynch) Grogan, as well as sister-in-law Steffanie Grogan, and 17 nieces and nephews. She was further preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John Riordan, and survived by her mother and father-in-law, Jan and Tim Riordan, sisters-in-law Kari (Chris) Hauser, Megan Riordan, Christina (Rishab) Thakur, and her brothers-in-law, Paul (Sara), Nathaniel, Andrew, and Matthew Riordan.
Maura taught second grade at St. Monica Elementary School for 9 years, where she was an inspiration to her students and an admired colleague. She left teaching to devote herself to her young family in whom she instilled her boundless creativity, passion for learning and love of children. Maura was an avid runner, loving parent, tirelessly imaginative homemaker and generous friend to many. She was a proud graduate of St. Monica Elementary School, Dominican High School, and Cardinal Stritch College.
A gathering for friends and family will be from 5-7PM on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705.
Gathering time will continue from 10:30-12:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 160 E. Silver Spring Dr., Whitefish Bay, WI 53217 with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Maura Neuens Memorial Education Fund c/o BMO Harris Bank.
