David Lawrence Harp
April 30, 1943 - August 15, 2015

David Lawrence Harp, 72, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2015 with his family by his side following a short illness. David was born April 30th, 1943 in Little Chute, WI to the late Eugene and Loretta (Heesakker) Harp. David was a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI (1966). He was a Civil Engineer who worked at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for 30 years. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, sharing the outdoors with his family, and especially the years at the family-shared cabin (Pleasure Rec Inc.). He was an accomplished woodworker and wine maker - his crafts adorn many family members' and friends' homes. He delighted in hours of card playing. He loved time with his extended family and life-long friends from childhood. During his recent retirement years, David enjoyed spending time at Tranquil Shores, the family cottage on the Bay of Green Bay, participating in community events, weekly card games, and was an avid reader. David was a long-time member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the Green Bay Transit Authority Committee.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Arlene (Ratulowski) Harp, Green Bay; his children, Brian (Joni) Harp, Saginaw, MI; Julie (Stuart) Creel, Crystal Falls, MI; Grandson Austin (Ashley) Fritsch, Milwaukee, WI; Brother Thomas (Ruth) Harp, Appleton, WI; sister-in-law, Carol Harp, Menasha, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Leo Harp, Little Chute, WI, James (Barbara) Harp, Little Chute, WI, and Richard Harp of Menasha, WI.
Visitation will be on Wednesday August 19, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00pm at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay, with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church, 2771 Oakwood Drive. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Demuth officiating. Burial to follow at St. Johns - Sacred Hearth Cemetery in Sherwood, WI.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Bellin Hospital, Rennes Group, and Unity Hospice for their special and compassionate care.
