Sue Lomasney wrote on Sep 5, 2015:
"From the Johnson girls to the Brewster girls: out deepest sympathy on the passing of your mom. From Baltzel to Nakoma the cottage to Cov. Presby and PEO Joanie always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. When Crellin passed last year she offered treasured words of solace.
Our moms met in college, became PEO sisters, summered in Michigan cottages, were musically gifted and raised daughters who dearly loved them.
We'll miss Joanie. Our thoughts are with you all.
Love, Sue Johnson Lomasney and Sarah Johnson"

"Dear Tissy and all of Joan's loved ones,
I was so sorry to hear about Joan's death, and yet, dying in your sleep sounds like a nice transition to the next chapter. Know that we are thinking of each of you at this sad time.

Zorko Greblo wrote on Aug 30, 2015:
"I was Martin's colleague at Mendota Hospital, and later at Rock County Mental Health, often traveling together to Janesville. We also co-chaired PLATO classes. Joan and Martin were very kind to me after the death of my wife, Lila. In later years, with my partner, Linda, the four of us shared concert-going, dinners and long conversations about our families. Joan and Linda shared many Madison musical experiences in Madison, past and present. We remember your Mother with joy and love, as we know you do.
Dr. Zorko Greblo and Linda Clauder"
