"As Mr. Sommer stated, Mr. Walker was loved by his students. He was a kind person and will be missed. I had the opportunity to work with him in the classroom and he was patient, but also held expectations for his students. He was so easy to engage in conversation, always had a smile, didn't pass judgment on others, had a positive attitude, among many other traits that made him a truly special person. About 13 years ago, on my first day embarking on an new career as a teacher, I was assigned as Dwayne's co-teacher, with almost no idea of what I was doing in that shop class. He made me feel so at ease and we were quite a team for one semester. I have him to thank for literally helping get through a tough first month or two. I will never forget Mr. Walker for that. Again sadly missed, but never forgotten. My prayers to his family. "

Scott Sommer wrote on Dec 7, 2015:

"Deeply loved by his students, Mr. Walker's kind words and constant smile made his welding shop a place of learning and safe refuge for so many that needed his thoughtful care. Always patient and helpful, Mr. Walker was an instructor who made a big difference in the lives of our children. Will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. My prayers to his wife and children. May God's blessing give you peace and strength during these most difficult times. "

"My condolences to the family, I read of the passing of your loved one Dwayne and send my condolences. This is one of the hardest times in a family's life. Always know that others care. Most important God cares. One of the reasons God sent his only begotten son into the world is so that we might gain life through him. (1John 4:9) His son confirmed this when he said at John 11:25 "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." As you reflect on this promise I pray that it will bring you comfort."
