RUSHFORD, MINN. - Megan M. Shaw, 29, of Rushford, Minn. died on Monday, October 19, at her home.
Megan was born on November 10, 1979, in LaCrosse, Wis. to William and Joyce (Brand) Block. Her father was in the military so while growing up Megan lived all around the United States, spending most of her childhood in Corpus Christi Texas. She was a graduate of the Flower Bluff High School in Corpus Christi. Megan moved to Rushford in 2003, where she worked for a while at Stumpy's. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed helping out with her son William's Cub Scout troop. Megan loved doing everything with William. He was her life.
She is survived by her son, William of Rushford; mother, Joyce of Rushford; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Anita Brand of Rushford; brother, Beau (Kayla) Block of Rushford; special aunt, Karen Block; and by many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and paternal grandparents.
A memorial gathering for Megan will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23. Burial will be in the St. John's North Cemetery in Hart.
