David Elmer Wetzel, 61 of Fountain City, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

David was born January 18, 1954 in Winona to Roy and Virginia (Addelman) Wetzel. He graduated from Winona Senior High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. David worked for Dairyland Power Cooperative in Alma for 35 years.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. You could always count on David if you needed help; whether it was a ride to somewhere or help with a construction project or fixing things. David was incredibly handy and could fix just about anything.

He is survived by his brother, Rick (Ann Williamson) of Winona; sister, Jeanne (John Ragland) Ward; longtime companion, Judi Wetzel; niece Chris (Bob Roskos) Wetzel; nephew, Dustin Wetzel and numerous friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Wetzel and sister, Judy Gile.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, November 28 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Witoka Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Kozlowski, Bob Roskos, Mike Hundt, Carl Parnow, Bruce Huber, Don Addelman, Harley Stoltz and Tim Glowczewski.
