"Phil, although short in stature was a giant among men. I knew him well for many years and sailed with him on his boat from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini along with Phylls Harris more than once. I even did some legal work for him in Norwalk way back. He was a kind, smart and considerate man. He will be missed. Bob Grosby "

"There could never be enough space to type and enough words to describe what my dad (daddy as I've always called him) meant to me. I have never known (or will ever know) a man like him. Strong yet gentle, funny, your best friend to confide in, make pizza with, share cool times with (race around in his speedboat or car). His work ethic was unsurpassed. He worked hard for everything he had and his lessons and values will remain with me for the rest of my life. My daddy lived life to the fullest and every time I hear Frank Sinatra's "my way", It will always remind me of him. My sister's and I played it for him hours before he passed. It was our tribute to him, to a man who could NEVER, EVER be replaced. Who will be loved and missed more than words could ever express. I love you daddy and miss your voice, your laugh, your smile, and your beautiful eyes. I know you are with me always. Love is eternal and we will meet again. xoxo"
