Elizabeth A. ?Betty? Duvall, 86 of Indianapolis passed away January 26, 2007 in Methodist hospital where she retired from in 1984 after 32 ´ years of service. She worked in Nursing Administration and was an assistant director of Nursing and Administration Assistant Director. Betty graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and graduated from Indiana University where she received her Bachelors and Masters Degree. Betty was a veteran of World War II US Army as a First Lt. in the Army Nurse Corps from 1943 to 1945. Betty served overseas with the 116th Evacuation Hospital Unit which cared for prisoners in the Dachau Concentration Camp. She was the first medical group that went into Dachau concentration camp and received the Bronze Star for her service in Europe. Her interview by Indiana Senator Richard Lugar last year has been placed in the Congressional Record Library. Betty was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and their St. Monica?s Guild. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday January 30th in Trinity Episcopal Church at 11:00 am with calling in the Fortune Room from 10:00 to time of service. She was born on March 16, 1920 in Liberty Indiana to the late Richard Monroe and Hazel (Johnson) Duvall. Betty is survived by her sister; Jean Duvall.
