"I had a day off today and went looking up old friends. I am shocked to learn that Valerie has passed on. We sat next to each other in some high school classes. She gave me the greatest teary eyed hug when we graduated. Oh the funny stories I could share. I still remember the last time we talked on the phone. Goodbye sweet friend!"

"What a shock to learn of Val's death. Inside and out, she was truly one of the most beautiful persons I knew. That "smirky" little smile of hers betrayed her; she was fun-loving and witty. One day at work at St. V, we were frustrated with our job, and she wrote a song about it to the tune of "Macarana." She also was a compassionate listener, and she wrote me a heartfelt note during a tough time. Please know you are all in my prayers."

We have shared alot of secrets, ideas, and laughs. We weren't as close as blood sisters, but it was the next best thing. I'm going to miss not being able to laugh with her. To Jeff, Madlyn, & Ashton thanks for allowing me to be apart of your family. My heart goes out to you, and you will remain in my thoughts and prayers."

"It is not the right order for parents to survive their children but it has happened twice in our family.Although we were estranged for over twenty years Valerie would from time contact us and seek reconciliation which was happily received but never quite accomplished. The shock and circumstances of her death are very difficult. Our thoughts of a happy, beautiful young girl help to modify the pictures of her death. Our thoughts and prayers have been and will be with Laura and Tammy and the rest of the family. We know that Valerie is at peace and with God because He knows and treasures those that call upon His name. Allthough we never re-connected in this life we surely will in the life to come. Goodbye Valerie.Valerie's father"

Tammy wrote on Nov 13, 2012:

"I am still at a loss for words. Val was a very dear friend to me, even though our talks and meetings were few and far between. Every time I was around her, she would lift me up. We had many laughs and good times together. Our week in St. Maarten was one I will never forget! My sunburned feet are still hurting! I can still see us on the beautiful beach. I had so much sun tan lotion on and she was basking in the sun working on her beautiful tan! I said how about the mountains next vacation?! She laughed at that idea. I will miss her laugh and eyes that saw right thru you. She was a true friend you wanted on your side. If you hurt, she hurt along with you. The laughs and jokes we played at St. Vincent keep me smiling. She loved Madelyn and Ashton so much. She was proud of them and wanted only the best for them. Needless to say, I am still in shock. But I must remember she is watching over me and she will always be beautiful and loving. Many people have touched my life, yet few have touched my heart and spirit in the beautiful ways that you have, Val. I love you and miss you already! I'll be seeing you later. Tammy"

"Valerie,Where will I find you, now that you are gone?Shall I find you in the cool green grass, the trumpeting tulip's, the towering tree's, the majestic mountains?Or shall I look to the sky; The many hued rainbows, the sublime twilight, the vibrant sunsets, the light, weightless clouds?I will find you in all these places because you are now a part of them all. But most of all I will find you in my heart and in my memories"

"It's been all of this time and I still MISS HER SOOOOO MUCH! We hit and missed over the years. We met about a year before she met Jeff and I loved her and her family dearly! It is difficult when you remember all of the dinners you said you would schedule or all of the times we said we would call back in a few minutes and took it for granted. I miss her and I loved her and I wish Jeff and the children well."

"I am so sorry to have heard about this so late and to be commenting over a year later. However, Valerie was my best friend in High School. She brought me out of my shell and introduced me to life. We were inseparable then and she has always been in my thoughts. I haven't seen her in a good 10 years but her influence on my life is felt today. I loved her and always cherished the things she taught me about life. I am so sorry to have found this on the internet so late but I wanted you to know that her love for life and her vitality saved my life as a teenager. She is sadly missed but forever in my heart."
