""Doc Hoag" made a strong impression on our family, including our three now-grown children. He is part of our family lore.He was witty, kind and yet sharp as a needle when dealing with a stubborn or spoiled child. He was compassionate towards the parents in his practice and showed as much wisdom dealing with us as with the kids.We appreciate him for his support for breast-feeding moms, for his common sense, for his strong faith and for his excellent, old-fashioned values. God bless "Doc Hoag," his wife and his family. "

"Dr. Mike is my oldest cousin and I am his youngest cousin. Growing up I didn't see much of Mike because he was always at school. Michael and Tom were my mothers (Aunt Gerry & Uncle Gene) special nephews because they lived with her family for awhile. She told me of many good times she spent with her nephews. Getting to know Michael and Mary Ann and their family at the many family reunions has been enjoyable, especially the talks about family history that he so loved. Mike is special to us all. "

I know he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. I have this picture of him in my mind sitting in a big rocking chair holding babies and surrounded by children. God bless you in your time of grief."

"I want to express my condolences to Mary Ann and all the family. I was lucky enough to inherit Dr. Hogan's wonderful pediatric practice when he retired in 1998. His were very large shoes to fill. I learned much about being a pediatrician from him and the families of his. They often told me how much they loved Dr. Hogan and how they knew he would never leave them with just any pediatrician to take over. It was quite a compliment and I tried my very best to take great care of his patients. He was a great role model. Pediatrics has lost a great clinician...but he taught us all very well. "I met Dr Hogan working for St Vincent Family Life Center. Dr's and nurses have a different relationship than Dr's and their patients. He certainly was a wonderful resource for all he came in contact with, especially pediatric residents. After many years professionally knowing him, his "bark" was certainly more powerful than his "bite". He was one of the last "old school" Dr's I've had the privilege to know...............what stories he always shared....I'm sure he is still sharing them. To the family my thoughts are with you..... I remember one Hogan mom and baby I had the pleasure of taking care of in The Family Life Center... "
