John David Stevens, MD, Born on August 29, 1930 in Manhattan, John David Stevens transitioned from this earth on October 14, 2007, preceded by his parents, Edwin and Inez Violet. He was initiated as a Rosicrucian in the Giza pyramid, Egypt.
Dr. Stevens had an Internal Medicine private practice on Long Island, New York, was an Emergency Room Physician at several New York Hospitals, and served on several Disability Review Boards. He was Acting Director, Clinical Research and Director Post-Marketing for Wyeth (formerly Ayerst) Pharmaceutical Laboratories, and Clinical Medical Research Associate for Pfizer. He was Medical Director of NYC Employees? Health before retiring and moving to Indianapolis, He received the prestigious 100 Black Men in Industry Achievement Award, and was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
Dr. Stevens graduated from New York University and Howard University School of Medicine, Washington DC; and was an Assistant Professor at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. He did a rotating internship and residency at Wayne County General Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Stevens was a Second Lieutenant United States Army veteran who worked in chemicals during the Korean War. He was a member of the Indianapolis Service Club and The American Legion. He served as a past president of Sertoma Broad Ripple. He was a member of the Indiana Free and Accepted Freemasons, Carmel Lodge 421, York Rite, and 32 Scottish Rite, where he served as a Tour Guide for the Cathedral. He was on the train crew at both the Branford, Connecticut Trolley and Indiana Transportation Museums and member of the NY and National Railway Historical Societies.

And Bradley Cothern, AIA and wife Samantha of Westerville, Ohio; step-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kristin, Kara, Julia, Ellen Frank, and Hannah and Noah Cothern. Sisters and brothers-in-law Dr. Louis and Karen Ling, Porterville, California, Paul Reid LeMasters, Esq.,wife Kathy, and their children, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Vistitation is from 5 PM to 8 Pm Saturday, October 20, with a Memorial Service at 1 PM on Sunday, October 21 in The Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel. Dr. Stevens would have been pleased with contributions in his memory to any of his favorite charities; Sertoma Broad Ripple, Masonic or Scottish Rite Foundations, 32ß Masonic Learning Centers for Children, the American Legion, or ASSISTANCE LEAGUE? OF Indianapolis.
