"I will never forget Phil. He was the first, and best, boss that I ever had. He always had a smile on his face and he was always there as a friend to those in need. It's not possible to tell just one Phil story without going right into another one and laughing until it hurts. I consider myself lucky that I had the chance to know Phil and be his friend. "

"Craig, my deepest sympathy to you and the rest of the family. I always have considered Phil a good friend and just Sunday night had a nice conversation with him. The biggest compliment I always gave Phil was that he and my former partner Ted Honey were alike. The reason being that I have never known anyone that didn't like them and always had kind words to say about them."

"I knew Phil for 34 years; I can't think of better friend or a more gentle and giving soul as Phil! Craig, Scott and your families have Cathy's and mine deepest sympathy...the world has lost a true gentleman, a kind and giving soul, and a charm that could make the darkest day worth enjoying....Phil will be sorely missed, but not forgotten."

"Phil was a great person to work for, but more importantly he was a great friend. We didn't see each other very often after I left McGilverys, but it was always great to sit and laugh with him when possible. He always had a smile and that made you smile. I'm thankful for the last time I saw him, I hugged him and told him what a great person I thought he was; he just laughed at me. I agree with the others, Phil was truly one of the "good guys" and will be missed greatly."

"As a distant father, it was comforting knowing that Phil was on hand. His influence molded my two children into the people they are today. A 'BIG' void will felt by all. I will miss the 'taxi trips' and that smile. And we all know what that smile was about. He was a true friend. "

"Phil, I will miss you so much!!! After having the pleasure of you into so many of our lives for so long....you then shared all your great qualities with the Avon folk and recently came back full-time in our (Speedway) lives. It is not fair that you were taken from us so quickly. I will cherish our good times (the lady in the pool!) and your smile forever. God took Ted Honey from us and now you...it is true that he takes the good ones!!!!"

"To Craig and all the Haskett family--I can just say to you that there is not a better person that I have even known than Phil. He was just a great guy. I saw him last working at McGilverys and my memory of Phil is of that night as I had no clue that would be the final time I would be able to speak with him. I am deeply saddened."

"I have wonderful memories of my time at McGilvery's and Phil was a big reason for that. He was always willing to do for "his girls" whether it was a home improvement project, a garage sale, a late night trip to Denny's or a Halloween trip to Vegas (remember Father Phil!) It was always comforting to drive past McGilvery's or Putt Putt and see Phil's red truck. You knew once inside you would find a real friend. God Bless to his family. We are all better for knowing him."

"Phil was like a big brother to me. He was instrumental in getting me started playing Putt-Putt in 1972, when I was 11. A game that has been a big part of my life ever since. Phil would go out of his way to help anyone and I have nothing but wonderful memories of my times with Phil, from he waiting an extra hour after closing for my ride to pick me up, to his taking 15 kids to Texas to represent the course for a junior (JPA) national tournament. We've all lost a great friend."

"Although I never got to know Phil all that well, his son Craig is a close friend and room mate. Phil was always nice to me and I always liked him even though I didn't know him. There was always a cool mood about him which I percieved as very genuine. I am saddened by the loss, and my grieving friends and neighbors. I am glad there is all this love surrounding him, his family, and all his many friends."
