Phillip "Phil" Haskett
Phillip Kay Haskett, 63, passed away in his Indianapolis home. He was the son of William and Aletha (Games) Haskett, born January 19, 1945 in Westfield, IN. Phil was a loving father to his sons, Scott (Holly) Haskett and Craig Haskett. He is also survived by granddaughters; Olivia and Meredith Haskett; brother, William Haskett; sisters, Patricia Monroe and Elizabeth Ann Trietsch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Judith Hohl. He will be greatly missed by his immediate and extended family, the Apples? as well as those he worked with throughout the years at Putt Putt and McGilvery?s. He was a friend to all. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. in Leppert Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Carmel Cemetery. He was always willing to do for "his girls" whether it was a home improvement project, a garage sale, a late night trip to Denny's or a Halloween trip to Vegas (remember Father Phil!) It was always comforting to drive past McGilvery's or Putt Putt and see Phil's red truck. You knew once inside you would find a real friend. God Bless to his family. "Phil was like a big brother to me. He was instrumental in getting me started playing Putt-Putt in 1972, when I was 11. A game that has been a big part of my life ever since. Phil would go out of his way to help anyone and I have nothing but wonderful memories of my times with Phil, from he waiting an extra hour after closing for my ride to pick me up, to his taking 15 kids to Texas to represent the course for a junior (JPA) national tournament.We've all lost a great friend."
