"Trudy and I went to school together for 13 years. There were many times I wished I was Trudy's sister and lived at her house. It seemed her parents loved one another, all their children, and even me a little. My most vivid memory of Mrs. Breen is of her letting us help her grade papers. What an incredible confidence builder that was that she trusted us to do that. I know she touched many lives and hearts. You all are so lucky that she was your mother and matriarch. I know she hasn't been well for awhile, but it's still hard letting go and saying goodbye. You have my love and sympathy. Mary Siener Clark"

"I am a good friend of Trudy, and I have heard her talk about her Mom many times. Although I never met her, I know she had to be a wonderful woman to have raised a daughter like Trudy! Rose is in a better place now and reunited with her loving husband! I am sorry for this loss to the family, but be assured God is watching over Rose now."

"Your mother was my teacher at #84 and, as a kid, I got to ride my bike to visit her many times when you lived on Central Avenue!(When I'm in the neighborhood, I always look at your house.) She was my favorite teacher and my inspiration. I just retired from teaching in IPS for 38 years(we taught at #59 at the same time!) My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time."

"So sorry to hear of your loss. Your mom was the greatest. My fondest memory was the day Trudy and I walked in to announce that Trudy could handle driving the standard shift in the old Dart. Your mom had that special grin. Remember it like it was yesterday. Prayers and blessings for all of you."

"Mrs. Breen was my seventh and eighth grade math teacher at Mary E. Nicholson School 70 in 1967-1969. She was a wonderful teacher. I remember she had posters of Norman Rockwells' four freedoms on the walls of her classroom. She was strict and I was very good in her class. I went on to get my degrees and taught elementary art for 22 years. She taught me fractions and I have used it in weaving for the past 32 years. She told us she was a devout Catholic and I was a Babtist then turned Catholic. She was an excellent role model. I am deeply saddened by her passing."
