Marcia Wolf

Marcia S. Wolf, of Oceanside, Calif., died Jan. 21 in Oceanside. She was born April 29 in St. Louis, the daughter of Mark and Frances (Isaacs)
Silverstone. Mrs. Wolf lived in Indianapolis and Carmel for nearly 40 years before moving to California in 2002.

She was an honors graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, where she held the Peabody and Eaton vocal scholar?
ships. She did graduate study in music through a professional opera workshop in New York City and at the Indiana University
School of Music in Bloomington.

Mrs. Wolf was a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra and Civic Chorus in St. Louis; Symphony and
Youth Symphony in Memphis; and Peabody Symphony. She appeared in leading operatic roles with The St. Louis Grand Opera
and St. Louis Municipal Opera (The Muny), Memphis Opera, Rossini Opera, Peabody Opera Company and IU Opera.

She sang extensively as a soloist in concert and oratorio performances in the United States. She also performed in The Netherlands

and Switzerland and was a church and synagogue soloist in St. Louis, Baltimore, New York City, Memphis, Bloomington and Indianapolis.

Mrs. Wolf liked traveling and especially enjoyed trips to Scandinavia, Israel and Japan. In addition, she loved collecting art, including

Lalique and Tiffany pieces.

Her many affiliations suggest her lifelong passion for music: Life member of Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity cq;
National Society of Arts and Letters; Past Presidents? Association of the National Federation of Music Clubs; past president, Young
Artist Division of the Beethoven Club of Memphis; charter founder and secretary of the Memphis Opera; Indianapolis Matinee Musi?
cale; Indianapolis Harmonie cq Club; Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins Alumni Association, for which she was a class agent; IU
Alumni Association and Friends of Music; Family Support Center in Indianapolis; St. Louis Friday Musicale; Baltimore Music Club;
and numerous environmental and animal rights organizations.

She was the widow of Dr. Daniel B. Wolf. Survivors are Mark A. Wolf and his wife, Diane Gallagher, Carlsbad, Calif.; Steven J.
Wolf, Boston; and Judy Wolf, Carmel, and her former partner, Pam Mueller, Indianapolis.

Burial will be private; there will be no calling.

A memorial service will take place April 30th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Yen Ching, 9150 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN

"I am so very,deeply sorry about the loss of Marcia.I knew her in H.S.I graduated with her sister,Joyce.I also am friends with Lenny.I wish there was something I could say that would ease your pain.All I can say is know in all ur hearts that she is resting in the arms of Jesus and soaring with the angels.She is no longer in any pain.May Our Lord give her family much needed comfort and solace during this sorrowful time and afterwards.May God be with you all til u all get to see her again in Heaven."
