"Words don't even begin to describe the sadness and shock. My heart is beyond broken, and you are in my prayers. Love, Emily."
Jonathan Patrick Dahl Calvert
The beloved son of Michael Calvert and step mother, Libby; and Donna Dahl Nash and step father, Kevin; and the beloved brother of Andrew Calvert; was murdered in a senseless act of violence in Baton Rouge, LA, as two assailants attempted to rob John on Wednesday evening, May 4th.
Jonathan, often referred to as ?Turtle?, was born on September 18, 1982, in Indianapolis, IN.
He attended Carmel Elementary and Carmel High School. He later attained his GED with honors.
He is also survived by his grandmother, Eve Dahl; aunt, Cyndi Bambrough; aunt and uncle, Bill and Margret Dahl; Cousins Katherine, Necholas and Michael Schafer; and girlfriend, Amber Lee ?Klover? Sutton.
Memories abound ? stolen bases at Wodock Field resulting in several unexpected runs, skateboarding with a broken ankle, catching crawdads with his brother at Cool Creek.
We will eternally hold in our hearts his beautiful, irrepressible smile; his perpetual happy attitude and free spirit, his ceaseless aid to anyone in need and his natural artistic ability.
He will be forever and sorely missed by so many family members and vast network of friends.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to John's family, friends and the many lives he touched including mine. A unique individual with a heart as big as his dreams. "
"That Smile..........that beautiful smile and impeccable manners. He loved Life, every bit of it. My mind's eye will always see him in his baseball uniform at Wodock with his "fade" haircut making the other boys crack up (by telling them God knows what!! ;). We are in shock as well and so saddened for your families loss. "
"Mike and Family, Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.I am so sorry for your loss, he may be gone, but he is never forgotten."

All I can say is, "our loss is heavens gain". God bless the family. Senseless act and peoplewant to know why I carry a gun."
