John Michael Ford 68, died peacefully at his home in Indianapolis on July 1, 2011 surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, he was the eldest child of the late John Francis and Louise (Keene) Ford. John was a 1960 graduate of Cathedral High School and earned a BS in Biology from Marian College. He spent over 40 years in the insurance business and was instrumental in the creation of the independent agency of Connolly, Ford & Leppert. John was also a man with a zest for life outside the work arena. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, cheering for Notre Dame, and all things Irish. He was the beloved husband of 41 years to Carol Goldschmidt; the devoted father of Terence (Traci) Ford, Brian (Sarah) Ford, and Erin (Travis) D'Antonio; the loving grandfather of Cole and Mackenzie Ford, JB and Caroline Ford, and Brady and Donovan D'Antonio; the dear brother of Joanne (Fran) Brezette, Mary (Quinten) Queisser, Jane Ford, Joe (Cathy) Ford and Mike (Elaine) Ford; and a faithful friend to many. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6 at the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Luke Catholic Church with burial to follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
