"F Quinn was six years older and a life long hero to me. After starring in basketball at Cathedral, he became the first local player to star at Notre Dame and pave the way for his neighbor and close friend Leo Barnhorst and others. His parents and my dad and Uncle Pat Tuohy were all born in Galway, Ireland, and came to Indianapolis in the early 1920's. They all settled in St. Philip Neri Parish on the east side and F's parents, my dad and his brother Patrick and wife Mary continued their friendship.I was particularly impressed with the great job F and his wife Barbars did in raising their 13 children. They helped all 13 get through college with no loans owed at graduation.F was always good company, had a great sense of humor and was modest about his considerable success as an athlete, a father and husband, and as a businessman. My sincere condolences to all his immediate family.Joe Tuohy"
