"Like Cindy Hayes I have not seen Mark in many many years. I think on a visit back to Indy in the 1980's I ran into him at the Bulldog and we fondly remembered old times at Chatard. He was truly a nice guy and I know he is missed. My prayers are with the Martin family."

"Have not seen Mark since we left high school, but I think every girl in out class had a crush on him at one time or another. Red hair and that smile! I am very sorry for your loss and may Mark rest in peace."

"Dear Mary Ellen, Jim, Sally, Peg, and Bruce. I was sad to get the call from my brother Mike and learn that Mark had died. And I am sorry I could not be with you for the funeral service. I hope the time together was rich and good. Mark and I have the same birthday and I have always cherished that...and felt a special kinship with him because of it. The image of Mark that is etched in my memories and I will hold onto is his smile -- with it's dimpled cheek, one-sided, turned-up grin and penetrating, beautiful eyes...Love to all of you for the ways you loved him. Cousin Ann "

"My condolences to Mark's family. When I knew Mark well, 35 years ago, he was a charismatic, forthcoming and kind person, and the world is a lesser place without him. R.I.P."

John Muller wrote on Jan 29, 2014:

"One of my best memories of my cousin Mark was when a fair number of the Connor clan met in Colorado for vacation. One day Mark, Sally and I hiked up a good size hill, but Mark was the only one to get all the way to the top of it. Stopping part way to snack on some peanut butter sandwiches that Sally made,(without jelly!), I spotted a lake in a distant valley and asked Mark what the name of the lake was. He said it was called, "Oohgah Boogah, which translated means, Low to the ground." That expression still makes me grin today. I lectured Sally on the right way to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as we watched Mark hike up to the top of the hill. "

"Mary Ellen, Jim, and Sally, I was so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I always called him Markie Martin because that was probably his nickname as a little boy.
