In loving memory of

Ryan Michael Irick
May 29, 1988 - December 25, 2013

Ryan Michael Irick, 25, of Carmel, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. He was born to Thomas Michael Irick and the late Joan Fullam Irick on May 29, 1988. Ryan graduated from Carmel High School and was continuing his studies at IUPUI at the time of his death with the hopes of earning a degree in physical therapy.
Ryan was a promising young athlete, running on the Clay Junior High School record setting 4 X 100 relay team, and he was Carmel High School's freshman kicker and fullback. In his later years, Ryan became an avid cyclist, constantly pushing himself physically to improve. The Colts were Ryan's favorite passion, and he made a daily effort to never miss an episode of Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption. When not playing or watching sports, Ryan took great joy in reading James Patterson books with his loyal dog Riley by his side. According to Ryan, the three greatest shows ever made were Seinfeld, the Simpsons, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. And he was always quick to assure you of this opinion. This appreciation for great comedy was reflected in his tremendous sense of humor, and magnetic personality that charmed most everyone he encountered. Above all else, Ryan cherished spending time with his family, where he was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend.
Ryan is survived by his father, Tom Irick, brother, Matt Irick, sister, Stephanie Drewry, brother-in-law, Chris Drewry, nieces, Emma and Grace Drewry, nephew, Jackson Drewry, grandmother, Connie Fullam, aunts and uncles, Jay and Mary Lou Irick, Diane and Carlos Bahr, Peter Fullam, and Carol and Rory Brito.
Services for Ryan will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014. There will be a viewing at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 5692 Central Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed immediately by a celebration of life mass officiated by Father Robert Sims. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made towards traumatic brain injury research.
