Bernice G. Kennell, age 96, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013. She was born on April 23, 1916, in Topeka, KS, to Anthony and Emma Johnsmeyer Linge.
She married Rev. Woodrow W. "Tom" Kennell on June 1, 1939. He preceded her in death. They met at North Central College in Naperville, IL. Together they faithfully served congregations of the Evangelical United Brethren and United Methodist Churches in Edgerton, OH; Terre Haute, IN; South Bend, IN; Elkhart, IN; Huntington, IN; Fort Wayne, IN; and Indianapolis, IN, until 1981. Bernice was a very loving wife and mother who always put her family first in her life. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann (Richard) Gantz and Susan J. Kennell; granddaughter Sally (Brian) Ball; and great-granddaughter Sophia Ball.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruth Linge Shupe and Dorothy Linge Pearman.
