Elizabeth "Betty" Pedersen HELD
Known as "Gramma Betty", age, 85, was born in Aurora, Illinois to Stanley and Mary Pawlowski. She was one of nine children.

During WWII, she moved to Seattle to work for Boeing in 1942. She met and married Paul Pedersen, a commercial fisherman in Ballard. In 1968, she married the love of her life, James Held. Betty worked at the American Can Company for 24 years but was a homemaker for most of her married years. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was known for traveling across the country, as well as spending time at her condo in Lake Chelan.

Betty and James enjoyed sports activities together including football, baseball, and a good card game with the family. She worked avidly in her garden and reaped the reward of beautiful flowers.

She is survived by her husband, James Held, of 42 years; 4 children: JoAnn (Obert), Bill (Judy), Paul (Connie), and Ray (Dianne), step-sons, Jeff (Lori) and Chris (Sharon); 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Frances; brother, Leo, many loving extended family and friends.

Betty will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by her extensive family and friends.
