Keith E. Gerling
January 15, 1950 - November 1, 2016

Mr. Keith E. Gerling, 66, of Burlington died at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at his home.
Born January 15, 1950 in St. Francis Hospital in Burlington, he was the son of Clarence and Ruth (Inghram) Gerling. On July 25, 1980 he married Theresa McCabe.
Mr. Gerling was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He worked in production at General Electric. He was of the Christian faith and he enjoyed sprint cars, junk yarding, and breakfast with his brothers. He was a Cardinal fan.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Gerling of Burlington; three daughters, Tricia Gerling of Burlington, Marcy (Dustin) Dirth of Tampa, Florida, and Bridget Gerling of Burlington; one son, Brett Gerling of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Ty, Tamira, Cameron, Isabelle, Imily, Keaton, Haidyn, Jarohn and Ivy; four brothers, Duane (Robin) Gerling, Harold (Linda) Gerling, Gerald Gerling and Loran (Kathy) Gerling all of Burlington; two sisters, Norma Johns and Marge (Steve) Haden both of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Sidney; three sisters, Virginia, Georgia and Lois; and sister-in-law, Joan.
The memorial funeral service for Mr. Gerling will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by Military Rites by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
